Music has taken Anthony Cooperwood all over the world. From Moscow, Russia touring with a 20-piece swing-jazz big band to Hong Kong, China for the Millennium celebrations of 2000 with a popular R&B artist, Anthony has performed in a variety of environments. For 5 years Anthony served as Keyboardist/Bass Guitarist/Backup Conductor for Cirque du Soleil's Dralion show.

 

While touring North America, followed by a lengthy 3-year European tour, Anthony performed in well over 1800 shows. His career spans more than 25 years in the entertainment business and has made him a solid performer and bandleader well-rounded in every aspect of the entertainment industry. Anthony is currently the music director for The Freddie James Project Musical Revue based out of Montreal, Quebec.

 

Anthony is not only comfortable with the fast-paced ever-changing venue of live theater. He also specializes in electronic music sequencer programming. Along with solid keyboards and various musical instruments, Anthony uses current music software to back some of the best artists in the industry.  He's  done studio work with numerous R&B artists from New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Montreal.

 

Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri Anthony Cooperwood has spent the last 25 years performing music and entertaining people all over the world.  In 1989 he won the Piano Fellowship Competition and received a 4-year full-ride scholarship to Truman State University. After earning 2 Bachelors Degrees in music and piano performance as well as a Masters Degree in Education he moved east to New York City to continue his career there.

 

From the American U.S. Embassy in Moscow to The Royal Albert Hall in London, England Anthony has performed and entertained thousands. He's had multiple appearances on The Tonight Show in Los Angeles with Jay Leno and Musique Plus (Canadian MTV) in Montreal as well as a number of programs worldwide for Telemundo in Mexico City, Mexico and TV5 in Paris, France.

 

Anthony is also a trained classical pianist occasionally serving as a representative for Steinway & Sons pianos. Further collaborations and endorsement partnerships include Roland, MTD Basses, N/S Design, The Chapman Stick, Dean Markley Strings and Canada's own Piano Prestige.
